E complicat, nu mă bag, aștept OS X Mavericks și cred că se va rezolva… e o problemă de la supplemental update pt 10.8.5 și cu un fișier mach_kernel:

“Once again the MacInTouch community has come through with the information and hints I needed to solve a baffling problem (the refusal of MS Office ‘11 updater 14.3.8 to install on my up-to-date Mountain Lion Macs, saying it needed 10.5.8 or better to install).
Someone noted that they were having similar problems with an Adobe installer, not just Microsoft. I tried that… yup! Both downloads installed fine on a machine still running 10.6.8, so I knew it wasn’t corruption of my .dmg files.
Must be something involving the latest 10.8.5 supplemental—and then I saw a comment by Colleen Thompson in another thread here about the mysterious visibility at boot drive root of the mach_kernel file.
Bingo!
I made all files on my Mac visible using Terminal, Time Machined back to October 4th, copied back to the present the original (freshly installed at that point in time) 10.8.5 supplemental mach_kernel file from the boot drive root, restored the invisibility of those files that normally are hidden on a Mac, and took a look at what I had.
On one of the three original Macs (the Mac Pro), there was no visible mach_kernel. On the Macbook Pro Retina and Macbook Air, I had to go back to the Terminal for a final sudo chflags /mach_kernel
Microsoft Office 14.3.8 and Flash Player 11.9.900.117 now installed without a hitch. Thanks to everyone whose experiences and comments led me in the right direction.”
